用作品展现历史

　　2004年在纪念遵义会议70周年之际，由他创作的雕塑作品《历史转折》成列于遵义会议会址老馆，由于人物形象刻画细致、逼真，好评如潮。

　　10年过去了，时值遵义会议80周年，十年前应遵义纪念馆之邀创作雕塑作品《历史转折》的往事清晰地浮现在廖凯眼前。

　　2003年，廖凯为遵义纪念馆做了一组****旧居的塑像，这组塑像非常成功，得到了各方面的好评。也因此，为遵义纪念馆扩馆创作《历史转折》组雕的任务最终落在了廖凯身上。

　　逼真刻画人物形象

　　（遵义会议）会议虽然只有20个人的场面，但它可是中国革命史上非同一般的事件，要让它有如史诗般的宏大、悲壮，就不能仅简单的再现。这样的题材应该产生强烈的、震撼的视觉效果，它就是高山、它就是丰碑、它就是壮阔跌宕的历史。为了表现70年前那个伟大的历史时刻，廖凯不敢有丝毫的怠慢，几经冥思苦想，他最终确定在构图中运用中国山水画感触天地的意象，并运用水墨画大写意的手法。“我以为只有这样才能配得上这段历史。”确定了创作定位之后，又考虑到作为纪念性题材的雕塑作品绝不能偏离史实，再现历史情境必须以史实为基础，因而，避免形式和事件毫无关联，顾左右而言它是作品首先要克服的问题。

　　《历史转折》震撼人心

　　“走进历史让我深深感动，也让我的思想得到净化。相隔70年后又一个寒冷的冬天，在艰难中我怀抱相同的理想信念体会先辈的艰辛。付出是艰辛的，但总算换来了努力后的认可。”

　　让他没有料到的是，《历史转折》之后竟在国内外雕塑界引起了不小的轰动。

　　廖凯说，《历史转折》让他和长征这段伟大的历史结缘，也使他沉积多年的雕塑抱负得以释放。之后，他沿着当年红军的足迹在艺术的道路上一路前行。先后在赤水河畔，在大娄山脉，创作了系列作品《四渡赤水》、《血战青杠坡》、《马蹄声碎》、《铁关赋》等，也因为作品在全国的影响，2013年，他受江西省中央苏区反围剿纪念馆之邀全面主持所有作品的创作。

　　廖凯说：“创作长征作品是为了让更多的年轻人深刻了解这段历史，为他们注入更多的正能量和渐远的民族血性。在时代的清风中，振臂呼唤崇高与信仰的回归，是一位艺术家应有的社会责任和历史但当。”

Show Historical Turning point by Relief——Exclusive Interview with Sculptor Liao Kai

（Zunyi Daily Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Zunyi Conference）

　　Show the History by theSculpture

　　In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Zunyi Meeting in 2004, the sculpture work "Historical Turning Point" by Mr Liao Kai, was on display in old Zunyi Conference Memorial Museum .The work won a roaring reputation because of the meticulous and realistic portraying of characters.

　　10 years slipped away. The 80thanniversary of Zunyi Conference is coming and the past event that he was invited to create the sculpture "Historical Turning Point" ten years ago emerges in front of his eyes clearly.

　　In 2003, Liao Kai created a group of statues about **** former residence for Zuni Memorial Museum successfully and won good reputation from various aspects. Because of this, the task that created group sculpture "Historical Turning point" fell upon him finally.

　　Realistic characters depicting.

　　"There are only 20 characters in the scene of the conference (Zunyi Conference), but it is an extraordinary event in Chinese history. If we want to make it as great, solemn and stirring as an epic, it can`t reappear simply. Such theme should have strong and shocking visual effect. It is a high mountain, it is a monumental event, it is a magnificent and turbulent history." Liao Kai thought. In order to show the great historical moment, Liao Kai dare not slight it. After deep contemplating, he made a final determination: to use the imagination of Chinese landscape painting and means of artistic expression of large impressionistic ink landscape. "I think it is worthy of this period of history only in this way". After determining the positioning of creation, he thought that the sculpture work, as monumental theme, couldn`t depart from historical facts and the reappearing of historical circumstance must be based on historical facts. So the first thing that should be overcome was to avoid the form of having nothing to do with the event.

　　"Historical Turning point" is shocking

　　Walking into the history, I was moved deeply. My thought was cleansed. After 70 years, in another cold winter, in hardship, I embraced the same ideal faith, experienced the hardships of forefather. The task was hard but the recognition came in return. He was surprised when Historical Turning Point "caused a sensation at home and abroad later. Because it was an unexpected success to him.

　　Liao Kai said that the work "Historical Turning Point" let him become absorbed into the Long March, the great historical period. And the completion of the sculpture helps him releases his long time aspiration. After that, he walked along the footprint of the Rred Army in his art career. He successively created series of work "4 Times Crossing Chishui River", "Bloody Battle in Qinggangpo", "Fragmentary Clop", "Dangerous Mountain Pass" by the Chishui River and in the Dalou Mountains. Because of the influence of his works in whole nation he was invited to take the charge of the creation of whole works by Anti-besiegement Memorial Museum of Central Soviet Area in Jiangxi Province in 2013.

　　Liao Kai said creating the works based on the Long March was to let more and more young people know about that part of history and pour more positive energy, courage and uprightness into their soul.  It is an artist`s social and historical responsibility to raise his arms to call the regression of sublime and belief in the refreshing breeze of era.
